NORMS OF CONDUCT

As per the municipality of Portimão: Every tourist deserves the best of experience while visiting Algarve. For the pleasure and safety of all, the following behavior is PROHIBITED:

  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages in public areas.
  • Possessing, consuming, buying or distributing drugs is prohibited.
  • Swimming under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
  • Sleeping under the influence of alcohol or drugs in public areas.
  • Urinating or defecating in public area.
  • Abusive, foul or disruptive language or obscene gestures.
  • Any behavior disturbing or obstructing the order or interfering with the audience enjoyment of events.
  • Inappropriate public display of affection (PDA)
  • Throw trash on public areas and/or beaches

Please Note: These behaviors are regulated and may result in arrest and fines by the Portuguese authorities.

Your home medical program may not provide payment for medical services outside your home country. Obtaining adequate medical/travel insurance, including air ambulance coverage, and consulting a physician or travel medicine specialist six to eight weeks prior to your trip to determine health risks and necessary vaccinations is recommended. Be prepared to pay for medical care yourself and seek an insurance refund when you return home, as many medical facilities will not deal directly with insurance companies.     When does The BPM Festival take place?
    The 2017 edition will take place September 14th - 17th  in Portimão & Lagoa, Portugal. 

    What is the minimum age to attend the festival?
    The minimum age for entry is 18.

    Where do the day and night parties take place?
    Day parties take place at varied oceanfront beach clubs & venues in Portimão & Lagoa. Venues & hours to be announced! 

    How hot will it get in the day and how cold will it get at night?

    Is re-entry allowed?
    Only valid festival pass holders will be allowed re-entry to events.

    Where can I get BPM merch?
    BPM merchandise will be available for purchase during the festival. The location will be announced prior to the festival's opening day. 

    Can I use tickets/wristbands/The BPM Festival name to promote my website/product/event?
    No. The BPM Festival trademarks, intellectual property, tickets and wristbands may NOT be used for advertising, promotions, contests, sweepstakes or any commercial purpose. The only exception is for the festival's official sponsors (and even they need formal written authorization from the festival's producers).

    What airport should we fly into?
    FARO and LISBON International Airports are the closest to Portimão. FARO is located 45 minutes from Portimão and LISBON is just 2h 30 minutes away by car.

    I have a medical prescription, can I bring it to Portugal?
    It shouldn’t pose a problem, however we recommend you keep a copy of the doctor's written prescription(s) with you.

    Where can I buy wristbands/tickets?
    Multi day festival passes are on sale at www.thebpmfestival.com/tickets
     
    In Algarve, you can buy tickets at the BPM Box Office set in Portimão during the festival, or at the venue door (subject to availability). 

    Will single event tickets be available?
    Yes! Once individual events are announced, single event tickets will be available at www.thebpmfestival.com/tickets 

    What are the different ticket options and what are the benefits of getting a Festival Pass (wristband)?
    Single event tickets
    Valid for one party, no re-entry.
    4-day Festival Pass (Wristband): Valid September 14-17, 2017 
    Includes entry to all events, re-entry, line bypass, guaranteed entry (subject to venue legal capacity), first choice to reserve VIP tables/booths at venues.

    Can I buy tickets at the door?
    Subject to availability.
     
    Will tickets be mailed to me?
    No

    Can I buy a ticket with a credit card that is not mine?  
    No

    What do I need to claim my wristband / tickets if bought online?
    Please bring valid government official ID and confirmation email. NOTE: The valid government issued ID must match the name on the confirmation email. 

    Can I change the name on the ticket?
    No

    Can I give my festival pass to a friend?
    No, this is strictly prohibited. The BPM Festival staff and security reserve the right to confiscate any festival pass which appears to be tampered with.

    The BPM Festival is not responsible for your festival pass or ticket is lost, damaged, or stolen.

    I purchased my tickets, I didn’t receive my confirmation email / downloadable file. What do I do? 
    If you do not see your order confirmation in your inbox, make sure to check your junk/spam folder.

    Can somebody else pick up my will call order?
    No. The purchaser MUST be the one to pick up and present a valid government ID and email confirmation. NO EXCEPTIONS.

    Are there package deals for The BPM Festival? (Flights/tickets/accommodation) or do I have to book this all separately?

    DO NOT buy tickets from a 3rd party/Scalper. There will be NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, authentication or guaranteed support for passes purchased from a third party/scalper.

    Do venues accept international credit cards? Are there ATMs at the beach clubs?
    Yes. We recommend that you contact your bank and set a travel notice on the credit card(s) you plan to use while traveling prior to travel.  You must also always present valid identification to use a credit card, which the venues will require a copy of.

    TAXES

    A 23% value-added tax (VAT), called IVA (Imposto de Valor Acrescentado), is included in most goods and services, and 13% in restaurants.

    Upon departure, tourists outside European Union can receive a refund on the VAT they paid on some merchandise by presenting their receipts to customs for verification. Hotels, restaurants or rentals, are not included.

    Portugal Telecom (PT) is the country’s national telecommunications company. Public pay phones do accept coins. Prepaid PT cards, which allow you to make local and long distance calls from any public telephone, as well as offering prepaid Internet access, are available at PT stores (tel 800 202 202) and authorized dealers, such as newsstands and convenience stores, displaying the PT logo. Insert the card into the slot, switch the instructions to English, French, German or Spanish, and follow the voice prompts.

    Cellular service is available all over Portugal. Check with your service provider to see if they have a roaming agreement with a company in Portugal.


    Is there a lost and found?
    There is at most BPM venues, as well as BPM Box Office and BPM Store. Speak to a manager.
